In some parts of the world, dating has definitely lost its trend. In a dialogue with Felicity Lawrance, an English youth, he was asked if dating is dead the way he sees it. He related the phenomenon of “instacouple” which literally means ‘instant couple’. Furthermore, this was his exact response: “In England, the dating of my generation has become ridiculous. Here if someone asks ‘Will you go out with me?’ it really means ‘Will you be my boy/girlfriend?’ And if the answer is yes then you are boyfriend and girlfriend. It completely skips the period of getting to know each other!”

Indeed, the cultural deluge in our world runs strongly against commitments in family affiliations. Given an instance, divorce has been easily made legal in most parts of the world, and childbearing has become unpopular. The connotation and importance of a “date” has also altered in such a way as to “price dating out of the market”. For whatever motivation, teenage boys usually feel they had to do something sophisticated to ask someone for a date, especially for an event like a promenade. The more sophisticated and luxurious the date, the fewer the scenario of dating becomes. As dates become fewer and more elaborate, this seems to create anticipation that a date implies weightiness or enduring obligation. That anticipation discourages dating even more. The “clumsy and inexpensive” phone calls our parents and grandparents used to make even disappeared (Is Dating Dead, 2001).

A teenage boy enjoys the company of a girl who has a good personality rather than someone who has good looks. Of course, boys appreciate physical beauty, but since they are usually idealistic, it takes more than a pretty face to impress them. It may not always be obvious, but boys admire girls who are smart, sporty, and have sense of humor. They also enjoy hanging out with girls who share the same interests. Boys hate girls who fake their personalities. They don’t respect girls who are superficial or obsessed with their looks. They also don’t like girls who flirt too much, so even though flirting is a healthy way to attract boys, it’s always better to act natural (King, J. 2002).

Comm 2 Mth 2:30-4 (paraphrase assignment)

1. According to Freeman (2011), time in Chassidism is likened to the ‘the flux of ratzo v'shov’ which is described as a repetitive oscillation of either positive or negative of force that caused events to happen like the beating of the heart, respiration process, the pounding of energy through waves and the same as things that exists recurrently oscillating “between a state of being and not-being”. The said oscillation is said to come first before time. And this continual occurrence of time today is an evidence of a “higher form”.

2. According to Freeman (2011) a certain concept in Chassidism accounts why creation call for ratzo v’ show. Accordingly, two opposing methods are needed for a thing to exist. Firstly, a certain thing should be controlled by it’s Creator. However, it must consider itself having its own unique identity. In this sense, ratzo v’ show therefore links the “creative force” and the “created being”. Time is an agent of “cosmic soul and space” according to Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Lubavitch (the "Tzemach Tzedek", 1789-1866).

Writing A Precis Exercise for Comm 2

1. According to Freeman (2011), time's existence goes beyond the creation of the physical world however it does not mean that it comes before everything. In a simple manner, it must have a beginning like any other else.

2. Based in Chassidism, Freeman (2011) said that time is an effect of "
a continual positive/negative oscillation of creative energy that drives all phenomena of the cosmos", that depicted as "the flux of ratzo v’shov" and came before time. This shows that the main scale of time is the expression that events happen.

plagiarism exercise

student revision 1

student revision 1 is guilty of plagiarism. plagiarism is often defined as cheating by stealing other person's idea. the first revision is an obvious form of plagiarism since student revision 1 did not cite the original owner of the idea he/she discussed in his/her revision. citation is important to avoid plagiarism for the purpose of giving credit to author of an original concept being presented. student 1 should have recognize the author of source in a proper citation and considered paraphrasing the entire article properly.

student revision 2

student revision 2 is guilty of plagiarism. student revision 1 differs from student revision 2 in such a way that student revision 2 recognized the source of the specified concept. this may be a better showcasing of a revision, however this does not free student revision 2 of plagiarism. citation follows rules and specifications and student revision 2 was not able to follow some of these certain rules. aside from having a proper citation, student revision 2 could be improved further by paraphrasing the thought of the article by using his/her own words while retaining the same meaning of the concept.
